Do you already have a dog?
If you already have a dog, perhaps a new dog is not what you need. There can be a lot of problems with bringing a new dog into the household. If you are disabled, dogs fighting for the right to be the one who cares for you, may not be what you need. Chances are, the dog that you already have probably loves you enough to be your caregiver!!
If you live in the Midwest, please contact us about private lessons. We can work with you and your family, to make your best friend into your always On Q(Cue) and Able knight in shining armor.
If you have seizures, and your dog does not respond to them, we can put your dog, with friendly dogs that are very seasoned in seizure alert during training. Our techniques of nurturing this natural gift in dogs, has been proven to work time and time again. Dogs learn best from each other, and we have a variety of dogs that are used for just that. These dogs are great at leading by example, and gentle to work with.
Once in a while, there are mentally handicapped or emotionally challenged dogs who truly can not be taught for such a demanding job. If this is determined after a one moth evaluation, money spent on private lessons, can be applied towards the purchase of a trained assistance dog.
After you have completed the private classes, we will test your dog, and your dog will receive a public access vest, ID, and paperwork.
30 Day Client Evaluation:
Because private lessons with dogs that we did not raise from birth can be complicated and require a lot of strategic planning, we approach this gradually. The first 30 days, is spent getting to know you and learn about the relationship that you have with your dog. During this 30 day period, we will explore the kind of assistance that you need from your dog, your dogs level of obedience at present time, your schedule, and the bond that you have built with your dog.
After we have determined the things that your dog can do for you, and the 30 days of pre-testing is done, a schedule will be presented to you of exercises that should be done to maintain the goals that we discuss each week in the private lessons.
Prices for Private lessons:
Prices may vary, according to time needed to nurture your dog towards being a proper assistant for you.
