New Titles to Consider
Now in this time when we demand that the AKC or any registry that will step up to the plate, opens the doors for all dogs to be eligible for all titles, we should be trying to determine all of the titles currently not being used with registries be identified and brought in.....
Search and Rescue dogs have been an important part of recovery efforts since before WWII. There is currently no trial or recognition by the AKC, for these dogs. Water rescue is equally important, yet there is no title for this that the AKC will cough up. Assistance and therapy dogs, should definitely have a titling system.
If you compete in any of these sports, please write the AKC, and voice your opinion to them about the importance of the sport that you compete in. It is only if we speak up for that we strive so hard to train for, that our efforts will be noticed.
