This is a sort of disclaimer if you will..... This not an apology, nor is it justification, or double talk to sugar coat anything that you may read on this site....
This is my site, these are my dogs, and these are my OPINIONS. I did not put up this site, so that I could read angry/upset junk mail from other Siberian breeders, who do not share my views on breeding, genetics, behavior, behavior modification, breed history, or anthropology. Friendly debate is encouraged and certainly welcome. However, I put up this site simply for the benefit of showing my dogs to the world and sharing views with open minded people who are interested enough to read them, not to be harassed.
I do realize that for every theory that is studied and believed, there are opposing theories that have the same amount of research and followers. If you oppose what I write, provide me with links. I have an open mind and love to read all points of view, on all matters. I do not even mind supplying links that contradict the theories that I personally go along with, just for those who are interested. I am always in the process of posting links and pages. I am trying to find the way that best suits me to put the links on the pages, so that they cross reference the points I am making. It will take a bit of time, as I have many pages that I am putting up, and lots of pages of references to link. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
If you do not like what you see or read on my site LEAVE NOW, it is your right. It is my right however to post whatever I want on my site.
I raise working dogs, for my use and assistance and service work only..... I do realize that a lot of Siberian breeders do raise the "show type" of Siberian Husky. I am not attempting to stamp the show Siberians out of existence. In my opinion show and racing Siberians are a breed apart. I do acknowledge that the show world will forever be the keeper of breed type( rather or not the majority of what is considered "breed type is accurate is another matter entirely). Do I think there is a better way to go about breeding for type, with out inbreeding a dog into extinction via genetic bottle neck... Well YES I do....
It is more than my opinion, but a fact that there is a pet overpopulation crisis. I personally do not believe that raising confirmation show dogs, that live in kennels is a valid reason for people to breed. If your dogs are obedience competitors or otherwise functional, then I obviously am NOT directing this comment at you. People who breed solely to produce "pets", but do not potty train or start basic obedience should be stamped out. They produce useless dogs that fill up shelters more than show or working breeders combined.
If a dog show judges dogs against a written standard that proves that a dog looks more like a Siberian Husky than any other dog there,..... or one better more like a Siberian Husky than any other dog present matches it's standard... I do not believe (nor will I be swayed to believe), that this is a valid reason to breed it to everything under the sun, and churn out puppies. A dog should at the bare minimum have a CGC, if it is not a working dog, otherwise why breed it? Who wants a dog that does not behave that looks like a Siberian?
My desire is not to breed dogs that look like they can pull sleds..... I breed for work ethic, general workability in ALL areas, and an outgoing people pleasing attitude. I am personally trying to contribute to breaking the stereotypes that have been put on a breed born from heroes unfairly. I think all dogs should be well rounded, the Siberian Husky is no exception.
